Sendbox
How do I send a track to someone's Sendbox?
A Sendbox is a DJ's, label's or A&R's public page for receiving tracks — thecut.music/send/their-handle. You don't need The Cut or an account to use one; you need an email address you can read, and the track.
Open the link and enter your email address, then type in the six-digit code we send you.
The code comes from noreply@thecut.music and lasts ten minutes; check spam if it hasn't shown up in a minute. Once you've verified, the page remembers you in that browser for 30 days, so next time you go straight to the form.
Fill in your name, the artist, the title and, if you like, a message of up to 500 characters.
The recipient sees all of it in the app next to the track, along with your verified email — so this is where to say what the track is for and how to reach you.
Upload an audio file or paste a SoundCloud link, tick the box to confirm you own the rights, and send.
Files: mp3, m4a, aac, wav, aiff or flac. The size limit depends on the recipient's plan — 100 MB, 500 MB or 1 GB — and is shown on the page. Private SoundCloud links (the ones with /s-… on the end) work. Keep the tab open until the upload finishes.
When it's in, the page says "Sent to <name>. You'll hear back if it's a fit", and a receipt lands in your inbox. That's it: the recipient reviews it in their own time and gets in touch if they want to. Please don't send the same track again to nudge them.

What the closed states mean
- Not accepting submissions right now
- This Sendbox is paused. Check back later.
- This Sendbox is taking a break
- Its owner hasn't been active for a while, so it isn't taking new tracks until they're back.
- This Sendbox is full for the month
- It has taken all the tracks it can for now. Try again in a few weeks.
- This Sendbox is out of space
- Its storage is full. Try again once the owner has made some room.
None of these are about you or your track, and none of them can be fixed from your side — the recipient sees a matching notice in the app.
Limits and what we keep
You can send up to 10 tracks a day from one email address, across every Sendbox. Tracks are kept for a limited time — the page says how long — and then deleted, so keep your own copy. Your name, email, message and file are shown only to the recipient (and any reviewers they add); we don't use them for anything else, and you can ask us to delete a submission at any time. The details are in the submission terms and our privacy policy.
