Changelog

Everything that's shipped in The Cut, newest first. Updates arrive through the App Store — on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.

  1. 1.6 Latest

Statistics, and The Cut on Vision Pro

A statistics dashboard, deleted tracks you can bring back, sources free for everyone — and The Cut on Apple Vision Pro.

    • New on Apple Vision Pro

    Statistics

See how you review. A new dashboard breaks down your accepts, rejects, and pending tracks — by source and over time — so you can spot your habits and how your inbox really flows. Share a clean summary card in a tap.

    Apple Vision Pro

Review your promo inbox in a space of your own. Your library and Now Playing each open in their own window — arrange them however you like — and every decision syncs with The Cut on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac via iCloud.

    Restore deleted tracks

Changed your mind about a track you cleared out? Deleted tracks now live in their own list, ready to bring back whenever you want. Nothing's gone for good.

    Add every source, free

Connect as many folders, feeds, and inboxes as you review from — adding and browsing sources is now free for everyone. Playback across multiple sources stays a Pro perk.

    Smarter Skip Intro

Skip Intro now only kicks in when there's real track left to hear, so short edits and IDs play through instead of jumping to the end.

Plus a faster first sync when you open the app on a new device, a sync indicator so you can watch iCloud catch up, tap anywhere on the mini player to jump back into Now Playing, hold rewind or forward on Apple Watch to scrub, sharper duplicate detection, smoother bulk accept and reject, and a long list of bug fixes and performance improvements.

  2. 1.5

    Review each track once

Duplicates from every source merged into a single entry, and playback that starts the instant you hit play.

    Duplicate detection

The same promo often turns up in more than one place — a SoundCloud link in your email and the same track in your feed. The Cut now spots duplicates across all your sources and merges them into a single entry, so you review each track just once. Accept or reject it and the decision applies everywhere. Got a false match? Separate it back out in a tap.

    Faster playback

Tracks now start the instant you hit play. The Cut quietly pre-loads your next track while you're listening to the current one, so there's no waiting between cuts — whatever source they come from.

Plus your SoundCloud, Dropbox, and email sources stay connected more reliably, snappier swiping, smoother playback on Dropbox and iCloud Drive, and a long list of bug fixes and performance improvements.

  3. 1.4

    Promos straight from your inbox

Connect any email inbox over IMAP, filter your library six ways, and scrub any track by its waveform.

    Email sources

Connect an email inbox and The Cut pulls in promos for you. Audio attachments and SoundCloud links from your mail land straight in your library, ready to audition. Works with any IMAP provider using an app password, and Full Re-sync re-scans your inbox whenever you change what to import.

    Filters

Filter any list by source, genre, BPM, key, star rating, and date added. Stack them to zero in on exactly the tracks you're after.

    Waveform scrubber

See the shape of every track and scrub straight to the drop.

    AirPlay

Send playback to AirPlay devices without leaving Now Playing.

    Share tracks

Share any track in a tap, with a link back to the original.

    Inbox badge

An optional app-icon badge keeps your unreviewed count one glance away.

Plus playback failures are now surfaced instead of failing silently, big reliability gains for SoundCloud and Dropbox playback, lower battery use, and periodic background refresh so your library is current before you open the app.

  4. 1.3

    Triage from your wrist

The Cut arrives on Apple Watch, any list pulls to refresh, and rejected tracks clear themselves up.

    • New on Apple Watch

    Apple Watch app

Browse your inbox, queue, accepted, and rejected lists from your wrist. Rate tracks, add notes, control playback, and jump back to the drop with skip-intro shortcuts. Smart Stack widgets and complications keep your latest track one glance away.

    Pull to refresh

Pull down on any track list to scan your sources for new files, with per-source progress as it runs.

    Skip Intro

Set a default intro skip so you land closer to the drop on every track. Decide faster.

    Auto-cleanup for rejected tracks

Have rejected files removed automatically after a delay you choose — keep your library tidy without manual housekeeping.

See which source a track came from right inside Now Playing.
