How long are submissions kept?

Every track someone sends you is stored on our servers until you've had a fair chance to review it, then deleted. That's what keeps the feature affordable — and it's why the public page tells producers to keep their own copy. The windows depend on your plan and on what you decide about the track.

How the clock runs

The unreviewed window starts when the track is uploaded. Once you accept or reject it, the clock restarts from your decision with the accepted or rejected window instead. Rejected tracks are kept just long enough to undo, then their storage is freed — so the quota heals itself with normal use. Move a rejected track back to your Inbox and it returns to the unreviewed window.

Accepting a track does not make it permanent. If you want to keep it, download it or move it into a folder before the accepted window ends.

Deleting sooner

You can delete any submission at any time from the app; the audio is removed straight away and the space comes back to your quota. Deleting a Sendbox removes every track it received, and deleting your account removes everything.

Storage and the inactivity pause

Storage is counted per account and shared across all your Sendboxes. When it is full, your pages show "This Sendbox is out of space" until something expires or you delete tracks; the app shows a matching banner. On the free plan the submission count is also capped, at 10 per rolling 30 days across your Sendboxes.

If you haven't opened The Cut for 45 days, your Sendboxes pause automatically and the page says the Sendbox is taking a break, so producers don't send tracks into a void. Opening the app again un-pauses them; nothing is deleted by the pause itself.
