## Common questions

Looking for step-by-step guides? Browse the [FAQ & Help](/faq) section.

### Why can't I see my tracks?

Make sure the source folder is set up in Settings and that you've granted The Cut permission to access your iCloud Drive folder. Go to Settings → Sources and tap "Add Source" to configure a folder.

### My decisions aren't syncing across devices

The Cut uses iCloud for sync. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID on both devices and that iCloud Drive is enabled. It may take a few minutes for changes to propagate.

### How do I undo a rejection?

Tap the "Rejected" tab in the inbox, find the track, and use the move-to-inbox action. The track will return to your inbox for re-screening.

### How do I connect SoundCloud?

Go to Settings → Sources → Add Source and select SoundCloud. You'll be redirected to sign in with your SoundCloud account. Once connected, The Cut will scan your playlists and likes for screening.

### How do I connect an email inbox?

Go to Settings → Sources → Add Source and select IMAP. The Cut works with any IMAP provider — sign in with an app password (not your main account password) and it will pull in audio attachments and SoundCloud links from your promos automatically. For a step-by-step Gmail walkthrough, see the FAQ article "How do I add my Gmail account as an IMAP source?"

## Copyright and takedown requests

Sendbox pages (thecut.music/send/…) let people send tracks to a DJ or label who uses The Cut. Heftii, Inc. stores those tracks on the recipient's behalf and is the designated agent for notices about them under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you believe a track submitted through a Sendbox infringes your copyright, email a notice to [support@heftii.com](mailto:support@heftii.com) with "Takedown" in the subject line.

For us to act on it, the notice must contain:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed, or a representative list if there are several.
2. Identification of the material you want removed and where it is — the Sendbox page URL (thecut.music/send/…) and the track's title and artist as submitted — so that we can find it.
3. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

When we receive a complete notice we remove the material, keep a record of the notice and of what we did, and inform the recipient and the person who submitted the track.

If you submitted the track and believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing the same identifying details, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, for the District of Delaware), and your signature. We pass it on to the person who sent the notice and, unless they tell us within ten business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the material between ten and fourteen business days after receiving your counter-notice.

We may pause a Sendbox page, or refuse further submissions from an email address, that repeatedly submits infringing material.
